Pragmatic Language & Social Skills
Come join us on Tuesday, April 13th, for an interactive workshop presented by Brown Center team members, Lee Patnaik, M.A., CCC-SLP and Vonda Watford, B.A. We will define pragmatic language, discuss how children with ASD experience difficulty with social skills due to pragmatic language delays, what the treatment options are for pragmatic language delays, and how social stories can help improve the social interaction skills among children with ASD that stem from a lack of understanding for pragmatic language concepts. Guests will be given an opportunity to practice writing brief social stories during the seminar that can be adapted and used after the seminar for their own purposes with their own children.
Date: Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
Time: 6-8 pm
Place: The Brown Center Conference Room
All members of the community are invited to attend. There is no charge to families of students of The Brown Center. For all others the fee is $5. Please download and return completed registration form above as space is limited.
